I Finished Uncharted: Golden Abyss
And I am sad to say it, but this is my least favorite Uncharted game. I’m not saying it was bad by any means, but it just wasn’t as good as the first three. I think what made me dislike it the most were all the touch controls they added for the Vita on the front screen.
I also wasn’t fond with the ending fights. The ending battles in Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves were well planned and even had a decent villain along with an epic shootout. In Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception the final fight was nothing but melee and I didn’t like it at all. The fight just wasn’t as exciting as the first two. At the end of this, it’s nothing but swiping your finger across the screen in the designated paths at the right times in the right direction. You not only have to do this once, but twice.
I did enjoy the overall ‘plot’ I suppose, the whole treasure and what happened with it and what it was and whatnot. I won’t spoil that at all because it actually was interesting.
Something else I did like about this one is that they did explain why there were so many damned enemies fighting you and that they weren’t just with the bad guys. At the beginning of the game they actually state that a war is breaking out and that’s why there are so many people, they are under General Guerro’s command.
I suppose if I had to give it a rating out of 10 I would give it an 8. The visuals were great for it being a launch title on the Vita, the controls were the same as usual so they were super easy to adjust to on the smaller device, and the sound was phenomenal for both voice acting, effects, and music.
Good game, I really can’t wait to see what the next Uncharted game on this system will look like. I’m sure it will blow this right out of the water.
